Flight Lieutenant Marc Heal a Chinook pilot from Odiham has been presented with the Distinguished Flying Cross by The Queen, for his 'superior flying skills in Afghanistan, his inspirational command of his crew and calmness under fire setting an outstanding example of gallantry, professionalism and courage that undoubtedly saved lives
On Friday evening (4th Jun) 'Fighting the Red Baron' was shown on Channel 4. Two ex-RAF pilots, Andy Offer and Mark Cutmore, were faced with the same challenges as WWI pilots. They said it was 'an exhilarating and surprising experience'. A more than worthwhile watch. If you missed it there is an opportunity to view again
It has been muted that the three services will be cut by 25% over the next ten years if the coalition government takes the hard line on public spending it plans.
