You are here : Meet the Team / Ann Dewar
Born in Middlesex, I did all my growing up in the Watford area, the only place I know with no tourists. I joined the RAF as an Admin (Sec) Officer after completing a degree in Geology and Geography at Plymouth. During my seven years short service commission I experienced life at Cranwell, Wyton, Hereford, Upavon, the RAF Careers Office in London and finally Cottesmore, an area that I seem to bounce back to with increasing regularity. For me there was never a dull moment in the airforce with detachments and expeds providing welcome ways of seeing more of the UK and getting abroad.
Following my career in the RAF I had a spell in civvy street sampling the jobs on offer, mainly in the areas of recruitment and PR before joining the RAF Benevolent Fund where I spent a very happy four years, initially in the Finance Department and then as Assistant Director PR and Marketing.
I have spent years as a service wife, enjoying tours at Coltishall, in Germany and Northern Ireland. I have a son Joe, who has just started school and a Springer spaniel who is keen to have us both out and running about. I enjoy the outdoors and skiing is a passion, although until I get young Joe on planks, it is a bit of a distant one.
